Just came home from school, I turn on the television in my room to listen to the music channels while I do some homework. Something in my brain clicks to check out what EWTN may have on. When I switch it on I INSTANTLY recognize a familiar French voice coming through my speakers. It's Father Antoine Thomas from the Community of St. John! He's leading about 13 kids in adoration of God! I was just so excited, I went downstairs to totally disturb my mom while she's home-schooling my siblings to say, "Remember Father Antoine?!?! He's on EWTN!!"
So after I did that, I came back upstairs to watch it ,ofcourse. He was speaking about how when Moses came upon the burning bush, and being the imperfect human that I am thought, "I have heard this story so many times...." THEN. Then I started to listen to what he had to say... and when he did I realized He was really leading me! Speaking slowly and intently to the children explaining so so simply why Moses took off his sandals when approaching the bush ( respect for God) and if any of the children has actually ever heard God speak to them. They all said, "no", then he asked them, "Why?" The kids all responded, "Because God is a spirit!!"
It was so refreshing to be taught scripture in the simplest way, being talked to as a young child! Then he went on to say," If we knew God were to be here in this room in 1 minute what do you think we would do." The kids responded, "Take off our shoes like Moses?" Father Antoine said, "No, I don't think we would have time to do that. We would just fall to our knees and to our faces on the floor in front of God." It was so simple, but SO beautiful! It's how you feel after spending a day with a child. You see the world through their eyes. You see the world through pure eyes.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see the kingdom of God.
Let us come into this Lent with a pure heart, like a child. Acknowledging our sins and handing them to God. What would you learn anew if you approached your faults and joys with the pure heart of a child!!
