“I care too much” – The cry of the teenage girl on Twitter.
It’s funny when you come across these things on Facebook and Twitter. Mostly, preteen and teenage girls follow these parody or celebrity accounts. One of the biggest trends is “I care too much.” It follows with,” I care too much because I’m always let down.” This is the trend of serial dating .Teens have started dating at such an early age that they weren’t able to cultivate who they are on their own. Where do your passions and talents lie? What makes me happy? Where am I in the heart of my Creator? What is my Will, God? You don’t have time for that ( Ain’t nobody got time for dat’) when in these growing years your giving your heart away to someone who, frankly, doesn’t know what to do with it. Love is fragile and powerful. At these pre-teen and teenage years we’re so overpowered with this sense to love someone. Now, that is no mistake. We are made to love and be loved. When we first give our heart to God we are placing it in this golden box. It’s there to be made ready, polished, loved from Love Himself. Then we can be ready to take this out and give it to someone who knows how precious and valuable it is. So the cry of Twitter makes me sad. Ladies, you do not care too much. You care so much. We were made to care it’s our instinct. It’s in our nature.
Some of you may be thinking, “Girl is crazy. I’m not gonna stop dating to save my heart for someone I don’t even know yet.” Yes, that’s exactly what I’m asking of you. Yet, know that I wouldn’t ask of you of anything that I would not do myself. I would rather be single for the rest of my life than place my heart into something feeble, weak, and lustful just to become broken. What are your two choices ladies break and be left empty? Or break with the blood of Christ and sit on the foundation of love and peace. The choice is yours. We have a lot of followers of Jesus out there, but few disciples. Disciples comes from discipline, you can do this.
